Alta Verapaz
Alta Verapaz department located in the geographic center of Guatemala, partly on the highlands sedimentary and partly on the low plain interior of Peten. Its terrain is varied, with limestone plains to the north and saws alternating with deep canyons to the south. The river network is characterized by a series of smaller tributaries of the Usumacinta river, and its climate is very warm tropical rain.
